Pantora

Your phone gets answered, even when you can't

Pantora’s AI phone agent answers with your business name, asks what the caller needs, and transfers the call when needed. You get a transcript, a summary, and a lead with the details, so you can follow up knowing what the customer asked for.

The phone rings while you are on a ladder, in an exam room, or halfway through a haircut. It goes to voicemail, and the customer calls the next name on the list. Pantora answers with your business name and takes the details so you can follow up.

Answer calls and get the details you need to help each customer.

Picks up in two rings, every time

The AI answers as your business, follows your greeting, and asks the caller their name, number, what they need, and how urgent it is. If it is a real job, it offers to connect them to you right then.

every call answered, on your schedule

Call back already knowing the job

Every call is transcribed, then summarized in a few lines: who called, what they need, where, and how urgent. The lead is created for you, so you call back with the answer instead of the question.

AI phone answering for a local business, explained

How an AI receptionist handles calls, when it transfers them to you, and how to review the results.

Capture inquiries when you cannot answer

A call can come in while you are on a job, helping a patient, or speaking with another customer. If nobody answers, the caller may try another business. An AI phone agent gives them a way to explain what they need and leaves your team with the details to follow up.

Pantora answers in your business name, asks relevant questions, and can transfer the call to your team. When a transfer is not possible, it takes a message. You get a summary and a lead record so you can decide what needs attention.

What an AI receptionist does on a call

When a call comes in, the agent answers in your business name with the greeting you wrote. It knows your hours, your services, and your address, and it talks in the voice you picked. Then it does what a good front desk does: asks the caller's name, the best number to reach them, what they need, and how urgent it is. If the job is real and you are available, it offers to connect the caller to you right then. If you cannot take it, it takes a message, promises a callback, and ends the call politely.

After a call, Pantora saves the transcript and a short summary with the caller’s details, request, and urgency. Relevant inquiries create leads with the call attached. The call log shows whether a call was transferred, unanswered, attempted, or handled as a message. Spam and blocked calls do not create leads.

Ring your team first, then let the AI answer

Use Auto mode when you want your team to answer first. Calls ring your team for fifteen seconds by default before the AI steps in. A press-1 check helps distinguish a person answering from a carrier’s voicemail. You can also choose to have the AI answer directly.

Set the agent to run during business hours, after hours, all the time, or in custom windows. A dental office might use it for evenings, while a roofer might need extra coverage during storm season. You can change the schedule or turn the agent off and forward calls to your team.

Know what the phone agent can handle

Pantora’s phone agent identifies itself as AI when asked, and callers are told when calls are recorded. It does not take card details or book appointments during a voice call. It collects the inquiry so your team can follow up; booking can happen through your website, forms, or the texting agent.

Your settings provide the greeting, hours, services, address, and instructions for handling questions. You can explain how to respond to pricing questions, urgent requests, and callers who need a specific person. If you have not supplied a price, the agent collects details for a quote. Set the instructions and call the number yourself to check how it responds.

Setting up your business number

Choose a local number, write your greeting, select a voice, and decide whether the AI or your team answers first. Set the schedule and transfer number. Then make a test call, ask common customer questions, and adjust the instructions before sharing the number.

Once you are ready, add the business number to the places customers use to contact you. Calls handled by the agent are recorded in your call log, with relevant inquiries added to your pipeline. The phone agent is included with your website, business texting, and follow-ups.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about AI phone answering.

Talk to our team

It never pretends to be a person. It answers in your business name and follows your greeting, and if a caller asks whether they are speaking with a human, it says it is an AI assistant for your business. Calls are recorded, and callers are told that too. In practice most callers care about getting an answer and a callback, and that is what they get.

It takes a message and promises a callback. The caller's name, number, what they need, and how urgent it is go into a summary, the transcript is saved, and a lead is created in your pipeline so the callback does not depend on anyone remembering. If the caller asked for a person and you were available, it tries the transfer first.

Yes. In Auto mode a call rings your team first, for fifteen seconds by default, and the AI only picks up if nobody does. An optional press-1 step keeps your cell's voicemail from grabbing the call first. Set the AI to run always, in business hours, after hours, or in your own windows, or turn it off and every call forwards to you.

No. Pantora gives you a new local number in your area code, and you choose where to use it. A common setup is to put the new number on your website, your Google listing, and your trucks while the crew keeps the cell they have. If you would rather your existing number ring the agent, standard call forwarding from your current carrier sends calls to it like any other number.

Not on the phone today. It gathers the name, number, service, and urgency, transfers real jobs to you, and otherwise takes a message and creates the lead. Booking happens from there, by you or by the texting agent, which can put an estimate on your calendar. On pricing it only repeats what your instructions say, so if you give it no prices it takes the details for a quote instead.

Blocked and spam numbers do not create leads or inbox cards, so your board is not full of warranty offers. Everything else is answered, and the call log lets you filter to the calls that were qualified, created a lead, or were transferred, so you can see the real jobs without scrolling past the rest.

You pick the voice from a short list, each with a preview, and you write the greeting and the instructions, so the agent sounds like your business rather than a call center. It asks for the name, number, service, and urgency in a normal conversation, not a form. Call the number yourself before you turn it on and adjust until it sounds right.
